Every December, the Encore Theatrical Arts Project takes the stage at the Richard J. Ernst Theatre for a brand-new original Broadway-style holiday musical, written specifically for the company and performed exclusively by its dancers. This season's show is "Santa Who?" and it runs across five nights over two weekends.
This is not a student recital. It is a full theatrical production featuring professional-level choreography, original staging, custom costuming, and a complete cast of ETAP company dancers who have been in rehearsal since the season began.
Toy Testers have returned to the North Pole, lucky children chosen to help Santa's elves try out the latest toys. Ginger, Santa's most confident elf, is hoping for a Toy Tester who is just as bold and eager as she is. Instead, she gets paired with a very quiet young girl named Lily.
But someone else has been waiting for the Toy Testers, too. An imp named Mortimer wants to use the power of the children's belief to replace Santa as the face of Christmas. As Mortimer's influence grows, Ginger and Lily must learn from each other and work together to stop him before it is too late.
The Encore Theatrical Arts Project is Encore Performers' non-profit pre-professional performing arts company. ETAP dancers are admitted by audition and train in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballroom, Acting, and Vocals. The Christmas show is the company's signature holiday production — a fully original story and score, different every year.
This show is for anyone who loves live theatre. Families with young children, longtime Encore supporters, and anyone looking for a holiday production that delivers a real story with real performances will find what they are looking for here. The staging and storytelling are designed to engage audiences of all ages.
A full-length original musical featuring the complete ETAP company. Broadway-caliber choreography, full theatrical staging, custom costuming, and a story performed at the standard the company holds all year. Plan for an approximately 90-minute performance.
