Please remember to send your dancer with their costumes, shoes, and tights as well as a light snack (nothing oily or greasy). Due to student allergies, no nut products are allowed in the dressing rooms.

THEATRE DRESS REHEARSAL (@Richard J. Ernst Theatre)
Recital A – Teens:  Wednesday, 5/29, 5:00-9:30pm
Recital B – Juniors:  Thursday, 5/30, 5:00-9:00pm

**Arrive on time!  We have limited time scheduled for our theatre dress rehearsals**
Dancers should arrive in their first costume and hair/makeup.  We will run through the show in order.  Different this year – we will not begin with bows, we will begin with the first dance.  After dancers have completed their last dance, they may leave.  One parent/guardian is welcome to watch the dress rehearsal from the theatre.  Munchkin/Mini students in B2 Recital will have priority placing in the audience during the dress rehearsal to video their performance during the theatre dress rehearsal.

All dancers should wear skin tone undergarments as a protective layer underneath their costumes.  This ensures modesty both during costume changes and onstage. Ladies may wear either a two-piece (bra and brief/bloomer) or one-piece leotard style undergarment.  Gentlemen may wear briefs or tight biker shorts.  Teachers will go over details of all necessary hair, makeup and accessories during class with dancers. Checklists with your dancer’s costumes and hair and footwear requirements will be emailed mid-April.  Please ensure that you are receiving emails from admin@EncorePerformers.com.

Shoes, Tights, Undergarments, etc. are available for purchase online.  Please purchase from our online vendors so that all shoes and tights match.

Stage Make-up:
There will be teachers and volunteers backstage to assist with costume changes; however please try your best to have hair & makeup complete before arriving at rehearsal/performance.  If you have a younger student, you will definitely want to apply their make-up at home prior to their arrival for dress rehearsals and performances.  Older students may find it helpful to practice hair/makeup at home several times before rehearsals and performances.  Taking responsibility for their own costumes, hair and makeup is a very rewarding (and necessary) skill for students.

  • Face:  Foundation to match skin tone

Bun at the crown of the head- will require hair elastic, bobby pins and/or roller pins for thick hair, hair net, and gel/hairspray to smooth down flyaways.  Please do not place bun directly on top of head.  Bun shape should be gently rounded to head and not protruding outwards.
  • Ponytail
Height will be specified in Costume Checklist- will require hair elastic, bobby pins to secure, and gel/hairspray to smooth down flyaways
When checklist says “part on right side” or “hairpiece on top left side” that is indicating the dancer’s right or left

A NOTE FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Dear Encore Performers Parents,

On Wednesday and Thursday May 15th and 16th I will be taking pictures of all of the groups at the studio. Before or after the group shot I will be taking individual photos for those who order them. The teachers will be posing the dancer for the pictures. Parents will be asked to stay in the waiting area for their child. If you would like to order pictures of your child please fill out the order form and bring it to the studio on picture day. For each different dance that your child is in you must fill out a separate order form. Please attach a check with each order sheet, or pay by PayPal. If you have a mailing label with your address on it please place it in the area for your address if not please print clearly and remember to include your zip code. I had a hard time reading some of the addresses last year. You will be receiving the photos in the mail. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the photos to arrive.
